Kantaoui Forum is a multilateral and pluridisciplinary framework for a global partnership in knowledge among developed and developing nations. The idea of Kantaoui Forum is based on PIK (Partnership In Knowledge), the philosophy behind the conceptual framework of the Tunisia-Japan academic, scientific and technological cooperation, initiated by Dr. Salah Hannachi after the state visit of His Excellency Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, the President of the Republic of Tunisia , to Japan in 1996.
KF takes place this year on 29, 30 and 31 of October 2007 that is less than three months before 2008, which will be designated as the year of cultural exchange between Japan and Africa. It also takes place about eight months before the TICAD IV Summit, the fourth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development, scheduled to take place in Japan in May 2008. It includes action-oriented events in science, business, culture etc…., in which participants will engage each other in a dialogue in action, in a “uchiai” fashion, to illustrate and implement the concepts and the ideas of partnership in knowledge, business and culture as discussed in lectures and conceptual workshops
